30-31 Oct 06 Cleaner Production Expert Group Meeting
"Cleaner Production in 2015-UNIDO's strategy for Cleaner and Sustainable Production"

  The UNIDO Cleaner Production Expert Group Meeting (CP EGM) will provide an active contribution in the evaluation of the new strategy for the Cleaner Production Programme for the upcoming years. Specifically the discussion will develop around the following main topics suggested by UNIDO:

· Mainstreaming of CP: macro and micro level, policies and partners needed;
· Sustainability of NCPCs and NCPPs: political, structural, management criteria, enabling activities;
· New challenges and activities for CP (CP +);
· Networking at regional, national and international level: minimum requirements for NCPCs and NCPPs, value added of networking.

The Expert Group Meeting will be strongly based on the output of the discussions of working groups, in which all the participants will be involved. A final document will be elaborated, approved and signed, containing fundamental input for the elaboration of the strategy for the International CP Programme for the up-coming years until 2015.

The meeting will take place from the 29 to 31 October 2006 at the Grand Hotel Sauerhof in Baden, Austria.

The participants in the Cleaner Production Expert Group Meeting include representatives from relevant institutions involved in the implementation of the Cleaner Production Programme: National Cleaner Production Centres (NCPCs), governmental institutions, donor institutions, consulting companies, private sector companies, international organizations, financial institutions, UNIDO staff members.
