Global Biotechnology Forum
2-5 March 2004, Concepción, Chile

 

 

Organized by UNIDO and the Government of Chile, the Forum aims to bring together representatives of governments, the scientific community and economic life, as well as the general public, to examine biotechnological opportunities and challenges in the developing world. Around 1000 participants are expected, among them several Nobel Prize laureates and other prominent guests.

The Forum will explore the following topics: biotechnology and the developing world; biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals and the health industry; biotechnology and the agro-food industry; biotechnology, biodiversity and bioindustry; technology transfer; trade, regulation and social acceptance of biotechnology; biotechnology, energy and environment.
