| Title | A Science Technology and Industry Strategy for Vietnam |
| Abstract | The present report focuses on contributions that science and technology might make to create an 'industrial and modernized society' in Vietnam as envisioned by her government. After having stated framework and scope, the report draws attention to the fact that individual capacities and adequate knowledge will be determinants of future development. The Vietnamese system of science and technology is critically assessed and relevant experiences especially provided by late industrializations are analyzed. The report also examines the main instruments for technology acquisition, upgrading and industrialization currently recommended to developing countries. Strategic principles justified by evidence are extracted. |
