| Abstract | The report describes how UNIDO focuses, as part of its overall mandate, on building and strengthening local capacities through the use of ICT applications. Encouraging the use of innovative ICT solutions among small and medium enterprises is one way of creating a dynamic bottom-up process of economic development. Another is to engage global business players to form effective linkages and broader partnerships for development. UNIDO is working in partnership with transnational corporations and public sector agencies to overcome the digital divide. |
