    VIENNA, 3 November 2014 - The Director General met with Mahammed Dionne, Prime Minister of Senegal.

  • JAPAN - SIGNING CEREMONY

    VIENNA, 3 November 2014 - An agreement with the Government of Japan concerning the project "Low Carbon and Low Emission Clean Energy Technology Transfer Programme" was signed today by Ambassador Mitsuru Kitano, the Permanent Representative of Japan to the International Organizations in Vienna, and LI Yong, the Director General of UNIDO. The signing was attended by Yuzo Goto, Director at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

    VIENNA, 3 November 2014 - The Director General met with Fatima Haram Acyl, Commissioner for Trade and Industry in the African Union Commission.

    VIENNA, 3 November 2014 - Director General Li held a meeting with Sam Kahamba Kutesa, president of Uganda.

    VIENNA, 3 November 2014 - UNIDO's Director General met with Neven Mimica, Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, European Commission.

    VIENNA, 3 November 2014 - The Director General met with Kamel Ben Naceur, Minister of Industry in Tunisia.

  • INTERNATIONAL GAS UNION - MEETING

    VIENNA, 3 November 2014 - Director General LI Yong met with Jérôme Ferrier, president of the International Gas Union (IGU).

  • MAURITIUS - SIGNING CEREMONY

    VIENNA, 31 October 2014 - An agreement on initiating a Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) programme in Mauritius was signed today by LI Yong, the Director General of UNIDO, and Asha Burrenchobay, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection of Mauritius. The project will target the food processing, textile, chemicals and light engineering sectors in Mauritius.

  • TUNISIA - CREDENTIALS

    VIENNA, 31 October 2014 - The Director General welcomed Ghazi Jomaa, Permanent Representative of Tunisia. He briefed him on UNIDO’s activities to implement its ISID mandate and on the Forum next week. After thanking the Director General for his extensive briefing, Jomaa agreed that sustainability was crucial and was pleased to see that it was included in UNIDO’s new mandate.

  • NORWAY - CREDENTIALS

    VIENNA, 31 October 2014 - Bente Angell-Hansen, Permanent Representative of Norway, presented her credentials to the Director General. The Director General outlined UNIDO’s ISID mandate and updated her on the forthcoming second UNIDO Forum on partnerships. The Permanent Representative shared the DG’s vision of developing enhanced partnerships and reiterated her Government’s support to UNIDO.
