VIENNA, 3 November 2015 - The Government of Hungary will fund a project which aims to foster social and economic inclusion of disadvantaged and marginalized population groups, including ethnic minorities, in Central, South, South East and Eastern Europe. An agreement on this was signed today by Director General Li and Karoly Dan, the Permanent Representative of Hungary to UNIDO.

BURKINA FASO - CREDENTIALS
VIENNA, 15 September 2015 - The new Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso, Solange Agneketom Bogore, presented her credentials to Director General Li. Li said that she was joining at a critical time when UNIDO’s mandate was being included in SDG Goal 9, and briefed her on the Programme for Country Partnerships (PCP) approach. Agneketom Bogore reiterated her country’s need for the support of partners such as UNIDO.

VIENNA, 15 September 2015 - Director General Li welcomed the Permanent Representative of Ethiopia, Negash Kebret Botora. He commended the country for its impressive economic and social achievements and its support in the implementation of the Programme for Country Partnerships (PCP). Botora expressed his Government’s satisfaction for the support provided by UNIDO and highlighted that the Director General's vision matched with the Ethiopian Growth and Transformation Plan 2.
EUROPEAN UNION - MEETING
VIENNA, 14 September 2015 - Didier Lenoir, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to UNIDO, presented his letter of accreditation to Director General Li. Li said that both organizations shared the same priorities, and commended the regular high-level review meetings between the EU and UNIDO as they represent a good mechanism to further strengthen cooperation. Lenoir congratulated Li for increasing UNIDO’s efficiency, and expressed his appreciation for the well-established cooperation.

VIENNA, 11 September 2015 - Following the Vienna Food Safety Forum, Director General Li witnessed a financing announcement signed between the World Bank and the Food Industry Aisa (FIA) to support food safety capacity building in Asia in partnership with UNIDO, the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA).
