  • SENEGAL - CREDENTIALS

    VIENNA, 8 December 2014 - El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye, Permanent Representative of Senegal to UNIDO, presented his credentials to the Director General. Recalling that Senegal was one of the pilot countries for UNIDO’s ISID Programme for Country Partnership, the Director General expressed his appreciation for the country’s strong ownership. He briefed the Permanent Representative on the SDG process, and stressed the importance of sustainable industrialization for economic development.

    VIENNA, 26 November 2014 - Director General Li met with Gennadiy Gatilov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

  • BELARUS – COURTESY CALL

    VIENNA, 24 November 2014 - Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, paid a courtesy call to the Director General. Thanking him for his visit, the Director General outlined UNIDO’s involvement in the post-2015 process and its activities with regard to the new partnership approach. The Minister conveyed his Government’s support to UNIDO and to industrialization, and confirmed that UNIDO’s key activities were fully in line with their national priorities.

  • VIET NAM - CREDENTIALS

    VIENNA, 24 November 2014 - VU Viet Anh, newly appointed Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to UNIDO, presented his credentials today. The Director General briefed him on UNIDO’s activities in the post-2015 process and the inclusion of industrialization in the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also informed the Permanent Representative about the Organization’s new operational approach on partnerships and the next ISID Forum in 2015.

  • BILL AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION - MEETING

    VIENNA, 7 November 2014 - Director General Li met with GENG Ming, Deputy Director of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in China office. Geng was the panelists at the session of “Benefits of Partnerships – Reaching Economy of Scale” during UNIDO's second ISID Forum.

  • WOMEN AMBASSADORS IN VIENNA NETWORK - MEETING

    VIENNA, 6 November 2014 - The Director General participated as guest of honour in a meeting organized by the Woman Ambassadors in Vienna Network (WAW). The President of WAW, Ambassador Olga Algayerova of Slovakia, introduced the network and its objectives. The Director General congratulated the members of the network on their initiative and expressed his commitment to work closely with WAW in order to promote gender equality and women empowerment.
