UNIDO at WTO open day, July 6, 2009

To mark the opening of the Second Aid for Trade Global Review on 6 and 7 July, UNIDO was invited by WTO to participate at the WTO Open Day on the 6th of July, 2009. UNIDO set up an information stand to convey the organizations activities in Aid for Trade, interagency cooperation, technical assistance initiatives, and other trade related activities and services.

The stand proved to be an excellent mechanism for public relations-UNIDO introductory brochures, documents containing UNIDO activities and programs in LDCs, as well as CD ROMs where disseminated to all who attended the 2nd Global Aid for Trade Review, primarily ministerial delegations from LDCs and donor countries. In addition, UNIDO presented and distributed its most recent documents: Trade Capacity Building Resource Guide 2009, UNIDO and the Millennium Development Goals, as well as the recent publication on UNIDO’s joint program proposal for 8 pilot countries to address supply side, Addressing Supply-Side Needs in LDCs.
