The Industrial Knowledge Bank (IKB) is an innovative mechanism of tripartite cooperation to exchange knowledge and expertise with regard to industrial and productive development in Latin America and the Caribbean countries.

 

Operating mechanism

Donor entities
Provide technical assistance and coordinate travel and health insurances.

Receiving entities
Reimburse the local costs incurred by experts during the cooperation such as transport, accommodation and food; cover the costs of publishing and disseminating the results of the cooperation.

UNIDO
Covers experts’ air travel fares from the entity of origin to the final destination within the LAC region; provides experts with a daily allowance of USD 50 in cash throughout the duration of the mission.

UNIDO headquarters assess all IKB demands and offers, compile them into a database and then publish them on the official UNIDO website.
