Genesis

In March 2009 the IKB set up operations in Vienna within the Latin American ant the Caribbean Programme of UNIDO, with the support of more than 18 countries of the region and the GRULAC.

Principles of the Bank's tripartite cooperation

The IKB is an innovative tripartite mechanism among UNIDO, donors and recipients to exchange knowledge and expertise with regards to industrial and productive development in Latin America and the Caribbean countries.

The donors are in charge of organizing and coordinating the costs of experts related to travel and health insurance, as well as the local costs of the hosting entity.

The recipient entities are in charge of the local costs of the mission experts including transports, accommodation and food, as well as the costs of publication and dissemination of results.

UNIDO is in charge of experts' travel air costs from the origin entity or enterprise to the final destination within the LAC region.
