Investment Promotion Support for Diversification Session
The third session will be a business partnership event. It will bring together all those who participated in the three previous segments as well as representatives of the National and Regional Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), the UNIDO ITPOs, local and foreign companies exploring business opportunities and potential joint venture partners.
The reports of the previous segments will be presented and analyzed in the light of the empirical evidence from the Investment Monitoring Platform. Participants will be given insights into the manufacturing and agribusiness sectors from the perspectives and experiences of foreign and domestic companies in Africa. Most of the time will be devoted to Business-to-Business meetings to allow the participants to interact and explore investment opportunities.
Furthermore, a session on South-South Cooperation as a mechanism to enhance economic diversification is also foreseen, in particular it will focus on establishing industrial parks/economic zones. Specific details are yet to be confirmed.
The fourth and concluding session will provide an opportunity for AUC and UNIDO, but more importantly the Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), to indicate what actions will be taken to address the issues/concerns raised by the business community. The recommendations from the participants will be reviewed for subsequent submission to the HoS/G.
