Diversification Policies Session

The first session will be a high-level panel discussion focusing on the desirability and conditions for sustained economic growth through diversification of the manufacturing sector. The panel will examine, inter alia, the current policy efforts, challenges and experiences of diversification in Africa. The panel will attempt to provide benchmarks for diversification strategies and effectiveness that can be used in the African context.

In terms of outputs, it is expected that the discussions will raise awareness, especially among policy makers, of the pitfalls experienced in the effort to implement diversification policies and offer solutions to overcome the said problems.
