Nomination

The South-South Cooperation in UNIDO is inviting you to nominate a project or program that has provided a successful solution in any of the following areas through effective leadership, innovation, and partnership:

  • Energy, Climate Change and Industrial Development
  • Energy, Climate Change and Inclusive Social Development
  • Energy and Climate Change: Focus on Biodiversity, Forestry and Land Degradation
  • Energy and Climate Change: Agriculture
  • Energy and Climate Change: Health, Youth and Women
  • Energy, Climate Change and Energy Access

Who can participate?

Any public or private institution, group or project that has made significant contributions to human development in the global south and that has provided solutions to address the challenges in the areas of climate change, environment, food security or global health. We seek organizations and institutions that can nominate South Development Solutions (SDS) that could readily be replicated, scaled up or adapted across developing countries. The South Development Solution (SDS) could be a Southern-grown solution, a South-South partnership solution, a North-South-South triangular partnership solution, a South-South-Multilateral Organization solution, Public-Private partnership solution, and/or a combination of all these.

The deadline for submission of the nomination form is 30 September 2012.

You may download the Word versions of nomination form and fill them out in English or in other official UN languages.

Kindly email the Word version and all additional relevant documents (multi-media, jpeg/eps, word, spreadsheets, graphs) to both the UNDP and UNIDO EXPO Secretariats at the following email addresses: gssdexpo.secretariat@undp.org and gssd-expo@unido.org.

Criteria for Nomination
Nominated initiatives should have some of all of the following attributes:

1.     South priority/demand driven

2.     South ownership

3.     South leadership

4.     Broad-based partnership

5.     Innovation

6.     Efficiency

7.     Sustainability

8.     Scalability
