UNIDO / AOTS Joint training Programme

The UNIDO / AOTS Joint Training Programme was held in Yokohama, Japan for two weeks between 16 and 29 January, 2008. The training is part of the Japanese Government's policy towards supporting Africa and it is part of follow-up activities to the third Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-III).
With full subsidies provided by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan, the project trained a total of 30 SME entrepreneurs including limited number of relevant governmental officials from 12 African countries.
The overall objective of the project is to promote export from African countries by enhancing the SMEs contribution to African development, through strengthening the management capacity of African enterprises.
