Improved exports through quality improvement in Zambia

With the assistance of UNIDO, a study will be undertaken to identify the current quality problems in Zambia’s industrial sector, with the ultimate aim of improving exports.

The study will:

• identify the current quality problems facing the Zambian industrial sector in export production and markets in terms of, inter alia, management skills, product quality, packaging, marketing and delivery;
• identify specific sub-sectors that will need this kind of assistance and are expected to improve their export performance as a result;
• suggest ways of improving the situation through capacity building and training and other types of institutional support from existing national institutions and associations.
