Banque Misr was established 88 years ago by the pioneer economist, Mohamed Talaat Harb Pasha, as the first bank fully owned by Egyptians.

During the 40 year period from 1920 to 1960, Banque Misr established 26 companies in various sectors of the economy, including spinning and weaving, insurance, transport, aviation and movie production. Banque Misr currently holds equity shares in a number of major projects in diverse and vital sectors in the Egyptian industry.
BANQUE MISR has also established major investment funds in Egypt as part of diversified portfolios, and has recently been granted an award by the Global Finance Treasury & Cash Management Awards, as the ‘Best Provider of Money Markets Funds in the Middle East for the year 2008’.
BANQUE MISR is a pioneer bank in utilizing state-of-the-art technology for banking systems and services in Egypt. Its computing center operates via a unified network. In addition, BANQUE MISR has 444 (ATMs) covering all areas of the country.
