UN-Energy Meeting

The UN Energy General Meeting 2009 is hosted by the World Bank and will take place the day before the opening of the World Bank Group’s Energy Week 2009, to be held from March 31 to April 2, 2009. The meeting will focus on the review of UN Energy work programme and will discuss key energy issues in the context of the current macroeconomic situation. It will also address key international forums and events, in which UN Energy will be participating and the new challenges and opportunities of  direct relevant to the work of the group.  The meeting will also provide an opportunity for UN Energy members to participate in the events of the Energy Week, which is a preeminent gathering of policy-makers and practitioners engaged in the strategic issues of energy and development. Energy Week 2009 will comprise a three-day executive conference at which senior-level energy and finance industry executives, senior donor and developing country government officials, stakeholders and leading-edge thinkers of the energy sector will offer new ideas on, and insights into the potential solutions to global energy challenges.
