The UNIDO Programme in Algeria focuses on improving competitiveness and supporting industrial restructuring

The objective is to support an open market economy by improving competitiveness, upgrading industries and promoting the role of the private  sector. In this context, high priority is given to encouraging technology and investment promotion as well as modernizing the industrial sector to improve competitiveness. Phase II of the integrated programme has been agreed upon and incorporates investment and promotion and export consortia projects through

  • closer integration of the ongoing integrated programme components from Phase I;
  • stronger coordination between the integrated programme and the programmes implemented by other agencies, particularly those of the European Union; and
  • better identification of the target groups,  particularly at the enterprise level.
