To achieve this goal, Jordanian enterprises must enhance their performance in terms of competitiveness, productivity and quality. Accordingly, the UNIDO Programme in Jordan seeks to make the food industry more competitive and to support a favourable business environment.
UNIDO Director-General Kandeh K. Yumkella attended the inauguration of the Investment and Trade Forum that took place at Amman from 18 to 20 June 2006. The Forum was attended by more than 300 foreign investors who were mobilized by the UNIDO network of Investment and Technology Promotion Offices. During the visit to Jordan, the Director-General met with Prime Minister H. E Mr. Marouf Al Bakheet and the Minister of Industry, H. E. Mr. Sharif Al Zoubi.
