Oman – Country Programme

A mission to Muscat, Oman, took place from 19 to 24 August 2007, during which the formulation of a new Country Programme was discussed

It will focus on developing capacity-building of the General Directorate for Small and Medium Enterprises within the Ministry of Commerce and Industry by emphasizing policy formulation, coordination and evaluation to enhance the private sector by stimulating small and medium enterprises. The Programme intends to implement enterprise development and investment promotion with local institutions with a view to strengthening their operations and enhancing their impact through a comprehensive set of activities covering the whole cycle of enterprise development and growth. The Programme also plans to provide assistance in technology and safety/quality by strengthening the performance of small and medium enterprises in selected sectors.
