... , which convened under the theme Coordination and Cooperation. UNIDO Director-General Kandeh K. Yumkella had the privilege of addressing and participating actively at this conference. UNIDO has proposed a joint program of regional partnership and cooperation between UNIDO and OFID, and has raised issues that need to be urgently tackled by most of the countries pursuing the development agenda.

A joint programme would be developed that focuses (among others) on the diversification and competitiveness of the industrial sector by strengthening productive capacity, trade capacity-building, environment protection and energy efficiency.
