UNIDO actively cooperates with the League of Arab States and its specialized institutions ...

... in particular the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) and the Arab League of Education, Culture and Sciences Organization (ALESCO), to help its member States achieve a sustainable level of industrial development.

UNIDO cooperation with the League of Arab States focuses its joint activities on selected areas of application that were underlined during the most recent meeting between LAS and the United Nations System, held in Vienna from 11 to 13 April 2006.  The Arab League has served as a platform for drafting and concluding almost all landmark documents that promote economic integration among its member States, such as the creation of the Joint Arab Economic Action Charter that set out the principles for the economic activities of the League.
