UNIDO and WTO have joined forces in assisting developing countries as well as countries with economies in transition to increase their export potential and contribution to the development of the global economy. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2003 to help countries expand supply-side capacity, assess conformity to market requirements and develop connectivity to the multilateral trading system. TCB related projects have been initiated in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and the Russian Federation. The pipeline projects address inter alia the issue of upgrading quality control laboratories in line with the requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 17025.
