Argentina's Ambassador Eugenio Maria Curia presents credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Argentina to UNIDO, Eugenio Maria Curia, presented his credentials today to UNIDO Director-General Kandeh K. Yumkella.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Curia was serving as Chief Legal Adviser of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Buenos Aires (since 2002).

Mr. Curia has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including: Representative / National Coordinator to the Financial Action Task Force on Money-Laundering (2000-2006); Representative to the Sixth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (1977, 1983, 1996, 2002-05); and Head of International Affairs of the Ministry of Justice of Argentina (1997-2001). Mr. Curia has also served at Embassies of Argentina to Austria (1994-97), Chile (1993), Italy (1989-90), the Soviet Union (1986-89) and the Netherlands (1978-83).

Mr. Curia obtained his degree in Law at the University of Buenos Aires, and has served as Professor of Public International Law and International Organizations, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (2003-05). He is married and has two children.
