Ethiopia's Ambassador Kongit Sinegiorgis presents credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to UNIDO, Ambassador Ms. Kongit Sinegiorgis, presented her credentials today to UNIDO Director-General, Kandeh K. Yumkella.
Immediately prior to taking her post in Vienna, Ambassador Sinegiorgis was, from February 2000, Director-General for African Affairs and Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa. Prior to that she was: Ambassador to Egypt (1996 to 2000); Ambassador to the Organization of African Unity (1995 to 1996); and Ambassador to Israel (1993 to 1995). Ms. Sinegiorgis began he diplomatic career as Third Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in September 1962.
Throughout her career the Ambassador has represented her country at a number of conferences, particularly on disarmament and discrimination against women and minorities.
Ambassador Sinegiorgis hs a B.A. in International Affairs. She is single with one adopted child.
