New Zealand's Ambassador Jennifer Macmillan presents credentials

The new Permanent Representative of New Zealand to UNIDO, Jennifer Macmillan, presented her credentials today to UNIDO Director-General, Kandeh K. Yumkella.

For the year prior to her posting to Vienna, Ambassador Macmillan was Deputy Director of the Environment Division of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, having spent a short time prior to that as Private Secretary to the Minister of Disarmament and Arms Control and Associate Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Maccmillan began her career with the New Zealand Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in 1984 after obtaining a Batchelor of Arts (Hons) in History at Otago University in 1983. She spent some 10 years with the DTI and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in December 1984. She held a variety of positions with the MFAT, at head office and in the field. Field posts include three years (November 1993 - December 1996) as Deputy High Commissioner in Honiara, Solomon Islands, and four years (February 2000 - February 2004) in Geneva as Political Counsellor with the NZ Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva.
