Islamic Republic of Mauritania's Ambassador Mamadou Diakité presents credentials

The new Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to UNIDO, Ambassador Mamadou Diakité, presented his credentials today to UNIDO Director-General, Kandeh K. Yumkella.

In addition to being Permanent Representative to UNIDO, Mr. Diakité is also Ambassador to Denmark (since 2006) and Ambassador to Germany (since 2005).

Ambassador Diakité is stationed in Berlin. Immediately prior to his posting in Germany he was Ambassador - Director for Legal and Consular Questions, Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (1993-2005). Mr. Diakité has served in many capacities in the course of his career, other postings include: Consul General in Paris (1991-93), First Counsellor with the Embassy to Spain (1988-91), and First Counsellor with the Embassy to Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg and the European Union (1983-88).

Mr. Diakité studied at the universities of Dakar and Nouakchott. He is married and has four children.
