Bulgaria's Ambassador Chavdar Zhechev Zhechev presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to UNIDO, Mr. Chavdar Zhechev, presented his credentials today to Director-General Kandeh K. Yumkella.
Immediately prior to his current appointment, Mr. Zhechev was serving as Head of USA and Canada Department, American Directorate, Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002-06).
His career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commenced in 1981, having worked in the Faculty of International Relations of Moscow State University for International Relations from 1976 to that date.
Ambassador Zachev has served in many capacities in the course of his career, including as Deputy Head, Bulgarian Delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Vienna (1998-2002) and Deputy Head, Europe and North America Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1994-98).
The Ambassador studied at Moscow University and obtained a Master's degree in International Relations. He speaks English, Russian, German, Italian, French and Spanish. He is married and has one child.
