VIENNA, 13 March
The new Permanent Representative of Montenegro to UNIDO, Ambassador Vesko Garcevic, presented his credentials today to Director-General Kandeh K. Yumkella.

Since June 21, 2006 Mr. Garcevic has been Ambassador of Montenegro to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Ambassador of Montenegro to the UN Office Vienna.

Prior to that, he was Ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro to OSCE and other International Organizations in Vienna (January 2004 to June 2006). From May 2002 to January 2004 he was Assistant Minister for Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

Before that he held several posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro: Assistant Minister for Multilateral Affairs, Head of Multilateral Department and Head of the Section for European Regional Integration.

Between 1998 and 2000, Mr. Garcevic served at the Department for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Council of Europe at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was Third Secretary at the Yugoslav Embassy in Vienna from 1993 to 1998, and also served as a Member of the Yugoslav Mission to the United Nations during that time.

Before Mr. Garcevic joined the foreign service in 1990 as Attache at the Information Department of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was a journalist for the daily newspaper Borba.

Mr. Garcevic holds a degree in Journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Belgrade.

He is married and has three children.
