Strengthening UNIDO Partnerships with Regional Development Institutions
With its experience and practice, UNIDO has deepened its understanding of the partnership between the Organization and the Arab economies in supporting sustainable industrial development
Therefore, UNIDO further promotes partnership arrangements with both international and national civil society organization, and incorporates resources into its projects.
UNIDO aims to increase its cooperation with each of the economies in the Arab Programme, thus creating an enabling environment for these States to make use of technical assistance services offered with the aim of increasing industrial capacity. While UNIDO has traditionally worked with Governments and with institutions in the public sector, it has steadily increased its cooperation with regional organizations including private sector representative organizations.
Strategic alliances with international agencies that benefit industrial upgrading in the Arab developing countries have helped UNIDO support the role of Arab Region Governments to fulfil their commitments to internationally agreed aid targets and to access various sources of funds such as bilateral and private sector donor funding.
