VIENNA, 13 February 2017 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) calls for interested candidates to apply for membership in its Independent Audit Advisory Committee (the Audit Committee).
The Audit Committee was approved by the Industrial Development Board, a governing body of UNIDO, in November 2016. Its primary purpose is to advise the Board and the Director General on the adequacy and effectiveness of accounting policies, internal controls, risk management, internal audit and other related matters. The deadline for applications is 10 March 2017.
Applicants should have relevant advanced professional qualifications and senior-level experience in areas such as finance, accounting, auditing, risk management or other related areas in international, United Nations, public or private sector organizations.
Applicants must be external to and independent from the Organization and shall not seek or receive instructions from any government or authority external to or within the Organization. Upon selection to the Audit Committee, the members shall serve in their personal and non-executive capacity for a three-year term, renewable once.
Individuals who were formerly employed by UNIDO cannot apply unless five years have lapsed since the termination of their employment at the time of submission of the expression of interest. Government officials serving in Vienna-based delegations are not eligible to serve on the Committee.
Members serve on a voluntary basis and are not remunerated, but shall be provided with travel and daily subsistence expenses at standard Organizational rates for attending Audit Committee meetings in Vienna.
Interested applicants are invited to submit an expression of interest, including a CV, by e-mail to email@example.com. For further information on UNIDO and the Audit Committee’s terms of reference, please click here.
