LJUBLJANA, 12 November 2013 – A professional development programme on sustainable energy solutions, organized by the United Nations Industrial Organization (UNIDO) and the International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE), is taking place in Ljubljana.
The eight-day event brought together over 20 participants from different regions of the world. It will address some of the key issues pertaining to sustainable energy and will seek to convey an in-depth understanding of energy policy, technology and financing as planning tools for developing sustainable energy systems.
“Through this programme, we hope to provide participants with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with current and expected trends in sustainable energy solutions, as well as to reflect on practical, innovative and cost effective ways to address sustainability problems within the energy industry and systems,” said Jacek Cukrowski, Chief of the UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development.
The programme features lecture-based and participatory teaching methods supported by guided excursions to green enterprises and research centres. It will be delivered by experts from UNIDO, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), Fraunhofer Institute, the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure and Spatial Planning, as well as from the private sector.
