UNIDO and International Center for Promotion of Enterprises sign cooperation agreement

VIENNA, 18 December 2013 – The Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), LI Yong, and the Acting Director General of the International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE), Janez Podobnik, today signed a joint communique identifying new thematic areas of cooperation between UNIDO and ICPE within the framework of the relationship agreement concluded between the two organizations back in 1988.

The new agreement will help focus joint efforts on project development in the specified thematic areas such as inclusive and sustainable industrial development and technology transfer, energy- and resource-efficiency, and capacity-development of UNIDO and ICPE Member States for more effective industrial policy research and reform.

It will also allow to broaden public-private partnerships in developing countries, and promote socially responsible management of public enterprises.
