* What is REAP?

REAP is a CSR-based business improvement programme that allows for:

  • • Effective diagnosis for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) regarding their CSR performance;
  • • SMEs to practice responsible entrepreneurship, by translating CSR principles into a commercially viable management approach
  • • Marketing and positioning of SMEs in global value chains;
  • • Standardised reporting for global benchmarking
  • • Multi-sector-based development of policies and incentive schemes for responsible business practice;
  • • Companies to become an active contributor to sustainable development through responsible competitiveness.

* What's in the complete REAP package?

  • • Tailor-made training and advisory services;
  • • the REAP software;

In selected target countries, UNIDO will adapt the REAP package to local circumstances and train consultants on technical assistance for data sourcing and entering, technical training services in the related areas, as well as company-based evaluation services. These features are an integral part of REAP as a programme for implementing CSR-based business practice and promoting responsible competitiveness.

* Who can use the REAP tools?

The REAP tools can be used by small and medium enterprises for their performance evaluation, strategic planning, and promotional activities, as well as by multinational enterprises for their global Responsible Supply Chain Management.

* What is the output of the REAP software?

REAP generates a CSR Report and a CSR Scorecard. While the CSR Report is meant to be used externally for promotional activities, the Scorecard supports the company internally in its strategic performance improvement efforts.

* What is the basis for REAP?

REAP is conceptionally based on the ten principles of the UN Global Compact and the UNIDO triple-bottom-line approach.

* How can I get involved in the Responsible Entrepreneurs Achievement Programme?

The Programme is currently in its pilot-phase with the first REAP workshop to be held in September 2007 in Vienna. Shortly after, additional workshops will follow on a global scale. If you are interested in becoming part of the REAP network, either as a consultant or company, please contact us via e-mail.

* How much does the Programme cost?

As training and advisory services strongly depend on the country, region, size of enterprise/supply chain, industry sector etc., prices may vary from case to case. We are currently developing a financial model with clear pricing according to the local circumstances.
