REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON THE MINAMATA CONVENTION ON MERCURY IN PRETORIA

The overall objective of this meeting was to address certain needs of the region in the early implementation of the Minamata Convention, facilitate the exchange within the region and enhance a coordinated implementation of the Minamata Convention with the Basel and Stockholm Conventions. Furthermore, we were able to identify several areas of particular interest  for further cooperation, such as the management of mercury containing products or mercury waste or projects addressing obligations of different conventions.
