UNIDO, BMZ, WorldSkills Germany / Foundation Conference: Green Industrial Skills for Sustainable Development, Leipzig Germany
UNIDO and WorldSkills Germany are jointly organizing a conference entitled "Green Industrial Skills for Sustainable Development - Risks and Challenges for Least Developed Countries" with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the WorldSkills Foundation.
The main purpose of the conference is to increase awareness on the importance of green industrial skills development amongst countries worldwide, to promote green industrial skills for a better future of deprived young people, and to enhance their chance of employment and income.
The plenary discussion and following roundtables at the conference shall provide input for potential policy change and national programmes in the area of education and green skills development, and shall give an opportunity to directly exchange knowledge and expertise of high-level decision-makers coming from various fields around the globe, such as national governments, academia, UN affiliated organizations, civil society and the private sector.
Participants are invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the WorldSkills Competition 2013, after which they will be able to register for optional industrial site visits and excursions to vocational training centers.
