Mozambique

UNIDO Intervention under the one UN pilot project

Mozambique has been designated as a Delivering as One UN pilot country, with the UN Country Team working towards the development of a One Country Programme for the next programming cycle and a single Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP). Since the designation as a Delivering as One UN pilot country came after the development and signature of the 2007-9 UNDAF, the period 2007 to 2009 is viewed as a transition period.
The 2007-2009 UNDAF provides the strategic framework to which all of the UN agencies working in Mozambique are committed. The UN Country Team agreed on four inter-dependent and mutually reinforcing pillars of cooperation - Governance, Human Capital, HIV and AIDS and Economic Development.

The overall goal of the UNDAF is to support national efforts to reduce poverty, strengthen democratic governance and achieve equitable growth and development, in order to reduce the prevailing disparities in the country.
