Launch of UNIDO-ICHET project for hydrogen powered three-wheelers in India

On 12 March 2009, the UNIDO International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies (ICHET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a consortium of Indian partners for introducing three-wheelers in New Delhi which would run on the most advanced and clean fuel: hydrogen.

SME cluster programme being redrawn with UNIDO help

The contours of cluster development programme for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) look set to be redrawn under a joint programme of the department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). Eight clusters have been identified and an action plan for integrated development of these as model clusters would be announced soon.

Government zeroes in on eight hubs to boost infrastructure for SMEs

The Indian government is planning to give a big push to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) aimed at increasing their competitiveness with better infrastructure. The programme will be implemented by UNIDO with financial support from the government.
