MANILA, 30 July 2019 - The National Action Plan (NAP) for the phase-out of Mercury-Added Products (MAPs) and the management of the associated mercury-containing wastes was turned over by UNIDO to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in a ceremony held at the end of July in Manila.
DHAKA, 16 July 2019 - The Government of Switzerland, the Government of Bangladesh and UNIDO organized a workshop in Dhaka to discuss the guidelines on the environmentally sound management of mercury containing lighting sources. These guidelines will assist Bangladesh in the ratification and implementation of the Minamata Convention on Mercury.

The event brought together 67 key stakeholders including representatives from Ministry of Forest and Environment, Ministry of Health and Population, Biodiversity Research Institute, and civil society as well as experts in the subject matter.

VIENNA, 11 September 2018 - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has organized an international expert group meeting on mercury waste management. The meeting brought together more than 75 representatives from the private sector, member states, international organizations, academia and civil society.
