STOCKHOLM, 2 June 2022 - Director General Gerd Müller and Emil Högberg, State Secretary to Sweden’s Minister for Business, Industry and Innovation, have met with the aim of deepening institutional relations and identifying potential areas of cooperation such as green industry, skills development and vocational training.

Over the past 15 years, Sweden’s voluntary contributions to UNIDO’s technical cooperation programmes amounted to over US$50m with the largest share of resources originating from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). UNIDO has established very good cooperation with leading Swedish manufacturers, including Scania in Iraq, Volvo in Morocco and the Democratic Republic of the Congo on vocational training. To identify further cooperation opportunities UNIDO is looking to establish closer contacts with the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.
