ABU DHABI, 3 November 2019 - LI Yong, the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister of Trade and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire, exchanged letters on the commitment of the country to mobilize a financial contribution of € 120,000 to support the programming phase of the Programme for Country Partnership (PCP) for Côte d'Ivoire.
This financial contribution will facilitate the completion of the PCP Programme Document, the start of the implementation phase of the PCP, and the resource mobilization process. It also marks the strong national ownership of the PCP and catalyzes the mobilization of partners around it.
The objective of the PCP for Côte d'Ivoire is to operationalize the inclusive and sustainable industrial development of the country; to accompany the National Development Plan (NDP 2016-2020) and the Government Social Programme (PSG); to contribute to the development of conditions that favour the emergence of Côte d'Ivoire on the basis of sustainable industrialization and to mobilize partnerships and impact investment.
The signing ceremony was part of the 7th Forum on Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID), which took place on the first day of the 18th Session of the UNIDO General Conference.
