The International Workshop "Technological Innovation Network Centres as an Instrument of Development and Competitiveness for South American Countries" was jointly organized by ICS-UNIDO, the Colombian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, and the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, which provided their facilities and logistical support.
The speakers were representatives of different countries such as Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia. In total, the Workshop was attended by 195 participants, mostly businessmen, representatives of chambers of commerce, academics, as well as representatives of BID and CAF.
The topics discussed generated great expectations among the participants and increased their interest of supporting the formation of a Regional Network of Technological Innovation Centres, an effort which ICS and UNIDO are currently undertaking in cooperation with CAF, supported by the UNIDO Regional Office in Colombia.
The event was very successful and achieved excellent reception in the academic and business fields.
