Organizations meet in Vienna to bring energy to the forefront of the public discussion

VIENNA, 26 November 2018 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) today hosted the 19th meeting of the Vienna Energy Club at the Vienna International Centre. The Vienna Energy Club brings together main Vienna-based international organizations dealing with energy and serves as an informal platform for discussions and exchange of views. It meets twice every year in order to strengthen cooperation in bringing energy-related issues to the forefront of the public discussion.

During the meeting, the Club welcomed its newest member, Robert Kobau, Secretary General of the World Energy Council Austria. The World Energy Council is the principal impartial network of leaders and practitioners promoting an affordable, stable and environmentally sensitive energy system for the greatest benefit of all.

The Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and International Affairs and the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism represent the host country at the meetings.
