VIENNA, 7 May 2020 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) organized its first online training in the course for the project: Development of an innovation ecosystem and support infrastructure, including a Digital Education and Innovation Centre in Azerbaijan. T
In response to the coronavirus crisis, the project quickly reorganized its activities to use online means to maintain its deliverables and reach its target audience. The first training of trainers was organized in partnership with the Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology and the Technopark Ljubljana. The objective of it was to give trainers at the Innovation Agency of Azerbaijan a hands-on experience on how to use online and e-learning tools and show the practical cases of online platforms for meetings and conferences.
Participants learned the vital elements of teaching and training online and were also made aware of the pitfalls and key advantages of online learning. Klemen Žibret, lecturer and Executive director at DOBA Faculty, the biggest online faculty in south-east Europe, stressed the importance of “keeping the audience motivated and being engaged in the dialogue with the students”.
Other trainers, Jernej Pintar, CEO and Head of Tech Community, Technology Park Ljubljana and Aleš Pevc, a creative technologies and new business model consultant, presented the practical use of online-platforms and future possibilities in the world of online meetings to be held in the virtual reality, such as AltspaceVR, MeetinVR and Virtway.
