UNIDO signed a Joint Declaration with Huawei to strengthen partnership

ABU DHABI, 3 November 2019 – LI Yong, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and XUE Man, Vice President of Huawei Technologies signed a Joint Declaration to strengthen partnership between UNIDO and Huawei.

The partnership will focus in the areas of industrial innovation and digitalization aiming at contributing to inclusive and sustainable industrial development and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Huawei, a global provider of information and communication technologies infrastructure and smart devices, can make a significant contribution to the promotion of advanced information and communication technologies in developing countries. Both parties agreed to develop joint initiatives initially within the framework of UNIDO’s Programmes for Country Partnership.

The signing took place on the occasion of the 7th Forum on Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) during the 18th Session of the UNIDO General Conference.
