About

Professor Tekalign Mamo is the Senior Director of the Agricultural Commercialization Clusters Initiative in Ethiopia’s Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA). He is the former State Minister of Agriculture, and currently leads two flagship projects, namely the National Digital Soil Fertility Mapping and the Agricultural Commercialization Clusters Initiative, both being implemented through the coordination of the ATA. He is also a recipient of numerous national and international awards, the latest being the African Green Revolution Laureate Prize in 2014 and the 2016 International Fertilizer Industry Association Norman Borlaug award. He holds a PhD in Soil Chemistry and Soil Fertility from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
