Policy-makers in Arab states understand the need to promote greater efficiency in resource consumption and protect the environment against pollution and waste.

This could be a chance to green the region’s industry and invest in new green businesses offering environmental goods and services. The discussion helped in outlining the key challenges and opportunities facing the Arab countries in their efforts to invest in green business. The roles of governments, industries and financial institutions were also explored, as well as job creation in green industries.
