Inhee Chung heads the Sustainability and Safeguards Unit at GGGI. Her main responsibility is to ensure that environmental and social safeguards, gender equality and social inclusion aspects are mainstreamed in GGGI’s programs and projects in 28 country programs across the globe. Inhee is also involved in shaping GGGI’s private sector engagement and its green industry program.
Before GGGI, Inhee worked with a global sustainability consulting firm, Environmental Resources Management (ERM), where she led Korea’s Sustainability and Climate Change practice, mainly advising multinational companies on sustainable business strategies, and improving their environmental, health and safety performance. Prior to ERM, Inhee spent nearly a decade with the UN Environment, managing various projects ranging from climate change impacts on biodiversity, cleaner production, resource efficiency, green buildings to Climate-Neutral UN initiative funded by bilateral donors and the European Commission.
Inhee has a Master’s degree in Environmental Technology with a focus on Energy Policy from Imperial College, University of London, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea.
