Duration: 3-6 working months

Duty Station: UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna

Organizational Context: The Partnerships Coordination Division promotes strategic partnerships in the context of CPs/PCPs and technical cooperation projects. It designs, negotiates and coordinates partnerships with DFIs, businesses and industry-related organizations, and partnerships with multilateral focused on environmental issues and sustainable industrialization. The Division articulates the corporate strategy for partnerships, identifies potential partners and facilitates the negotiations around the scope and terms of the partnership as a service to the technical departments, acting as a one-stop-shop.

The Regional Divisions are responsible for determining regional strategies and programmatic priorities for UNIDO’s services, and ensuring that UNIDO responds to the specific needs and requirements of Member States. The five Divisions cover Africa, the Arab Region, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Particular attention is given to the special developmental needs of the LDCs within these regions.

Tasks: Under the overall guidance of the Director and the direct supervision of the Division Chief/Programme Officer, the intern will:

1. Support the activities of the Division related to the Programme for Country Partnership
2. Contribute through research, analysis and drafting to the ongoing formulation and implementation process of UNIDO Country Programmes;
3. Provide input to organization of meetings with Member States’ representatives and other counterparts at the UNIDO headquarters and produce meeting reports, press releases and other documents;
4. Support preparation of programming missions (schedules, briefs etc.) and workshops for Country Programming Frameworks and preparation of reports;
5. Assist in organizing the logistics for meetings and conferences; draft the necessary background documents and agendas; assist in the preparation of presentation material;
6. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification requirements:

a.) Academic background: Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.

b.) Computer literacy: Microsoft Windows, proficient use of processing tools such as Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
