All Member States meet once every two years at the General Conference, which approves the budget and work programme of UNIDO. The Conference also appoints the Director-General, nominated by the Industrial Development Board, normally at four-year intervals. At this year's Industrial Development Board, the incumbent Director-General, Carlos Magariños, was nominated for reappointment by the General Conference.
