Item 6:  Financing of UNIDO programmes, including new initiatives for funds mobilization

Statements were made by the representatives of Egypt (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China), Sweden (on behalf of the EU and associated States: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey), Indonesia (on behalf of the Asian Group), Russian Federation, Luxembourg, Peru, Belarus, France, Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and by the observers from Angola (on behalf of the African Group), Senegal and Hungary. Representatives of UNIDO replied to the queries raised during the consideration of item 6.

Item 7:  Environment-related activities

Statements were made by representatives of Egypt (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China), Sweden (on behalf of the EU and associated States: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey), Peru (also on behalf of GRULAC), Cuba, China, Russian Federation, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Norway, Turkey, Sudan and by the observer from Jordan (on behalf of the Asian Group). A representative of UNIDO replied to the queries raised during the consideration of item 7.

Item 8: Field representation

A statement was made by the representative of Egypt (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China). With Vice-President H.E. Mr. A.G. Abdel Rahman Hassan (Sudan) in the Chair, statements were made by Sweden (on behalf of the EU and associated States: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey), Russian Federation, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Sudan, Pakistan, Republic of Korea and by the observers from Jordan (on behalf of the Asian Group) and South Africa. A representative of UNIDO replied to the queries raised during the consideration of item 8.

Item 9: Industrialization of the least developed countries

Statements were made by representatives of Egypt (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China), Sweden (on behalf of the European Union and associated States: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey), Peru (on behalf of GRULAC), China, Lesotho, Ethiopia, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and by the observers from Angola (on behalf of the African Group) and Cameroon. A representative of UNIDO replied to the queries raised during the consideration of item 9.

Item 10: Administrative matters

Statements were made by the representatives of Ethiopia, Egypt (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China), Japan, Republic of Korea, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and by the observers from Jordan (on behalf of the Asian Group) and Angola (on behalf of the African Group). A representative of UNIDO replied to the queries raised during the consideration of item 10.
